Statement

"I'm a process artist and I use oblique methods to image things. My work often takes the form of abstracted landscapes: a kind of internal topography that gives insight into the structure of memory and psyche.

I work intuitively and sometimes it's not immediately clear what I'm making or even which way up the picture sits. As I progress, the images form into groups that generate their own logic and iterative patterning.

Some of the techniques I use were developed by psychoanalyst CG Jung and the Surrealist movement, with the intention of accessing the individual and the collective unconscious. It's a mysterious way of working that allows meaning to radiate outwards from the work rather than be superimposed onto it."
